Dr. Hugo Quiñones

“Dr. Q,” as he is affectionately known to his patients, was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He obtained  his Bachelor in Science at the University of Puerto Rico in 1986. Dr. Quiñones attended Dental School at the University of Puerto Rico, where he was Class President for 2 years (Junior and Senior year), and received his DMD degree with honors in 1990.  After Dental School, Dr. Quiñones practiced general Dentistry and taught at the University of Puerto Rico Dental School. 

In 1991 he decided to pursue postgraduate studies. At that time, Dr. Quiñones moved to New Jersey and went on to complete a one-year General Practice Residency and an Oral Surgery Fellowship at Jersey City Medical Center from 1991 to 1993.  He then completed his four year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program at Jersey City Medical Center in 1997, where he graduated as class valedictorian. 

Doctor Quiñones obtained his Board Certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1999 and has been in private practice since. He has been selected to “The Best Dentists in New Jersey List” on multiple occasions (an award voted on by New Jersey Dentists).

Dr. Quiñones currently teaches  at Rutgers Dental School . He also teaches Montefiore Oral and Maxillofacial Residents at Jersey City Medical Center. He taught Temple University Residents while working at Cooper Hospital from 1998 to 2000.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Q’s bilingual abilities are a significant advantage while treating the diverse communities of Hudson and Union Counties. Dr. Quiñones strives for superior, compassionate care of all his  patients. He keeps abreast of new techniques by attending continuing education courses in dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, pathology, and trauma. His priority is to stay on top of cutting-edge technology in the field while providing the best care to his patients.

He is a member of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons,  the American Dental Association, and the New Jersey Dental Association.

A father of four, Dr. Quiñones is an avid sports fan and a classic movie and history buff. Dr. Quiñones loves spending time at the Jersey Shore with friends and family for relaxation.
